Article 2: The Executive Branch
The executive branch is made up of the President, Vice Preident, and the cabinent. They have a four year term. To be elected, they must recieve 270 electoral votes. These are sent in by the electoral college. The electoral college is a group of elected officials from each state that have the final vote for the president. They recieve those votes based on the popular vote of each state, and the winner takes all the votes from that state.There are four requirements that the President must meet. Those are that they must be 35 years old, a natural born citizen, a 14 year resident, and they must take the oath of office.The president also has many powers. They are the commander and cheif of the armed forces, they may make treaties with the Senate's approval, they can appoint Supreme Court Justices, and they can grant pardons. The President can also give the state of union address, approve or veto bills, call sessions of Congress, and they can be impeached for wrongdoing.
