Five Principals of the Constitution
The Constitution is based on five principals: popular soverignty, checks and balances, limited government, federalism, and seperation of powers. Popular soverignity is another word for democracy. That means all Americans that are at least 18 can vote and it says that the people hold the final athourity. Checks and balances are a way of making sure we don't have a tyrant. The different branches of government check each other so nobody can have absolute power. Limited government is another way we avoiding having a king. This limits the power of government by allowing people to intervene and certain powers are denied. Federalism is a system of government and it allows the United States to keep threir independence. Lastly, there's the seperation of powers. This is the three branches of government. The seperation of powers is benificial to help avoid the issue of someone having absoluute power.
